a site-specific performance intervention at the gallery of modern art, glasgow. the original building was commissioned in 1777 as a mansion for tobacco merchant and slave owner, william cunninghame. it later became glasgow's royal exchange in 1827 where for over 100 years, merchants gathered to trade in colonial goods such as cotton and sugar which were crucial in facilitating the rise of glasgow as the second city of the british empire.
